Recent work
Here you’ll find the details of my latest work. Over the years I’ve worked on more than 30 projects across multiple sectors. I’m happy to share more details of my work in a call.
Creating a digital service that builds financial resilience
The client: A fintech scale-up
The challenge: Trust in financial institutions is at an all-time low. We don’t learn how to manage money in school, yet financial services take for granted we know what’s good for us.
The ask: Create an inclusive digital service that builds trust with customers and boosts users’ financial resilience, so they are prepared for any unexpected financial shocks in the future.
The task: I led a small team to explore the users’ relationship with money and finances, identified areas for opportunity in a crowded fintech space, and developed and tested early concepts. We assessed our ideas with quantitative research to narrow down the service proposition. We are now defining the next experiments to measure interest and willingness to pay.
The outcome: Reduced the risk of investing in an idea that would gain little traction, thanks to pursuing problem/solution fit; this gave management the confidence to choose the concepts based on evidence.
Building a learning-by-doing programme to upskill employees for future challenges
The client: A cluster of companies in the automotive sector
The challenge: The automotive sector is undergoing huge changes and this company recognised the need to increase its capacity to adapt proactively, not reactively, across all departments to remain competitive.
The ask: Develop a training programme which equips employees with the skills to:
spot opportunities
take action to develop solutions
use the principles of human-centred design and agile practices to drive digital transformation within the company
The task: I developed a successful hybrid training programme and have delivered it twice in two years. Over 10 weeks, participants handle a live challenge and learn how to analyse a problem, generate ideas, prototype and iteratively test solutions to drive change within the organisation.
The outcome: Employees who participated became drivers of change and developed solutions around knowledge management that the company is now taking forward.
How to develop sustainable and ethical AI
The client: Data-driven design studio for an industrial technology leader
The challenge: Understand how to establish an open and collaborative practice to support the responsible development of AI through tools and resources.
The ask: Establish what regulators, AI ethicists, developers and the public need, in order to build trust in AI and allow the technology to develop rather than being stifled by regulation.
The task: The client had developed a framework to support the responsible development of AI. I conducted research and interviewed policymakers, AI ethicists and developers to understand the challenges of developing responsible and ethical AI, and what they would need to see in such a framework. I synthesised the findings and worked with stakeholders to generate ideas which transformed into a prototype. We created a new website that caters to the needs of different audiences.
The outcome: A clear roadmap of actions to build a collaborative practice and position the company as a thought leader on the topic of responsible and ethical AI.
