Change how people innovate

Today’s rapidly changing market and crisis' like COVID-19 and increased extreme weather events present teams with unexpected hurdles. Quick, effective, and proactive responses are a must.

I provide practical tools to help you thrive within uncertainty and come up with better solutions. My hands-on approach, rooted in design thinking, ranges from quick 2-hour workshops to deep-dive 12-week programmes.

Project snapshot

  • Problem: A group of manufacturing firms needed their workforce to anticipate change proactively and respond with innovative ideas.

Solution: From 2020 to 2022, I led 60 employees through a learning-by-doing program guiding them in opportunity identification, ideation, prototyping, and effective communication of their solutions.

Impact: A shift from a rigid to a collaborative, experimental culture was ignited.

"For us, innovation is not an option. It is a necessity. After two rounds of Fit for the Future, we have seen a definite shift in the mindset of our employees. We see the ability to innovate, courage, and the determination to contribute to the company." - Leonhard Holzer, Co-Founder abuscom

Flood caused by a storm, to symbolise emergency preparedness and prevention

Make prevention attractive

People are more likely to take pain killers than vitamins. Despite the cost-effective nature of most prevention products and services, people often overlook what's best for them. This challenges proactive organisations in securing user adoption and engagement.

Using behavioural design, I dive into the cognitive biases at play and find ways around them. Together, we'll bridge long-term benefits with short-term needs and run small, cost-effective experiments to discover solutions that work in your specific context.

Project snapshots

  • Problem: The thought of preparing for storms, floods, or wildfires is as enticing as stepping on a Lego brick, leaving most without an emergency plan.

Solution: Crafted a family game challenge infusing preparedness with action and community building, all sprinkled with compassionate humour.

Impact: Fully developed and substantively partnered program, currently awaiting pilot implementation.

"I love the idea, I’ve not seen the combination of humour and games before” - Suzanne, Red Cross

  • Problem: Climate change poses huge health risks. We aimed to understand how to support vulnerable citizens towards a healthier lifestyle, reducing the cost of intervention by investing in prevention.

Solution: Through qualitative research and in-home interviews, we unearthed the needs and barriers that most impacted their lifestyle and mental well-being.

Impact: This project is currently being used to inform various initiatives around preventative health.

  • Problem: Extreme weather events can be expensive, making it crucial to build financial resilience. The goal was to design a tool that not only helps individuals gauge their financial resilience but also motivates action without evoking self-judgment.

Solution: Through iterative user testing, we refined the tool’s messaging and features to improve resonance and engagement.

Impact: We minimised the chance of the tool being underused in a cost-effective way, and the team is now empowered to replicate the methodology in the future without external support.

Lilli has been key in helping us take a more user-centred approach in a lean and cost-effective way that empowers us to build it into our ways of working.” Eloise Duncan - Founder of the Financial Resilience Institute

Set-up and test new services

The Climate Era not only presents challenges but also unveils opportunities to create revolutionary business ideas. These opportunities can drive transformative adaptation which we can use to steer away from consumptive capitalism.

With years of experience in building products and services for companies large and small, I work with conscious leadership and teams to develop unique value propositions and adaptive businesses rooted in the principles of regeneration and resilience.

While other venture projects are under NDA, I'm open to delving deeper into my process and approach during a discovery call.

Project snapshots

  • Problem: A pressing query many face is, “How can I prepare for the impacts of the climate crisis?” A significant part of the answer lies in how we earn a living.

Freelancing enhances our resilience and adaptability, as it gives us control over when, how, and where we work, as well as which projects we take on.

Solution: Just as a single tree is vulnerable to the elements, freelancers are stronger when connected. IMMA Collective is a community for aspiring freelancers and solopreneurs dedicated to climate and social impact.

Impact: IMMA Collective has steadily grown organically, exploring a regenerative business model through testing and experimentation. It not only facilitates job opportunities for freelancers but also empowers them with the essential knowledge and tools to create a meaningful impact.

  • Problem: A service provider wanted to add a new service to their offering but was not sure if it was a viable business idea.

Solution: Together, we explored different business models and used prototyping with numbers to assess the viability of the service.

Impact: Our quick experiments allowed us to collect information rapidly and make more informed and effective decisions, saving thousands of Euros in both time and investments.
